Wildflower

Local nonprofit Wildflower, Inc. has been awarded a grant of $22,500 from the Parmenter Foundation, as a renewal of its previous 2022 grant. Wildflower was first recognized by the Parmenter Foundation with a grant in 2020, has received funding each year since then, and is honored to be a participant of the 2023 renewal grant pool.

Wildflower is dedicated to serving children and families who have experienced the death of a parent. It provides the gifts of camp, enriching experiences, and consistent, long-term support to help families strengthen their resilience and create positive opportunities for the future.

This grant will be applied toward full program support, including aid for summer camp and other experiences, newly added year-round enrichment services and academic tutoring, and our college support program. Wildflower’s full range of services, such as year-round support of a Family Liaison volunteer, emergency support for basic needs, resources and referrals, will also be available to their parents, ensuring stability at home and capacity to support their children’s growth and development.

“Parmenter’s repeated funding ensures Wildflower’s ability to provide long-term support to families. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing vote of confidence that Parmenter’s support represents,” says Audrey Loria, Executive Director.

“Providing another layer of support for families who have suffered the loss of a parent is critical for our community. For many, the loss of a parent means fewer resources for children. We are so grateful to Wildflower for offering enriching opportunities during the summer, one of the most challenging times of the year for solo parents,” says Angela Crocker, executive director of The Parmenter Foundation.

The Parmenter Foundation provides hope and support for MetroWest community members of all ages in need of compassionate end-of-life care or bereavement support. The Foundation awards grant funding to nonprofit organizations that deliver high-quality programs within our focus areas and develops and offers inspirational and educational resources to help our neighbors navigate through the challenging grief process. The Parmenter Foundation, like Wildflower, is committed to helping families cope, heal and build resilience.
