Pro-Bono Management Consulting Services Available
Nonprofits are invited to apply for up to 80 hours of free consulting relating to strategic planning, program development, change management, team building, executive performance evaluation, or board development.
David Hastings, principal of Managing Excellence in Andover, is making the free services available to one organization, but nonprofits must apply by Dec. 30, 2008.
Hastings’ consulting work has focused on helping nonprofit organizations take concrete steps toward achieving sustainable results.
He began his career as an administrator for a psychiatric day hospital and maintained positions in top management and consulting services for 32 years. He is an adjunct professor, teaching management to MS and PhD level students at Tufts University, and has lectured at Harvard University and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He earned an MBA in Health Care Management from Boston University following his graduation from Tufts University with a BS in biology.
Key accomplishments have included:
- Achieved sustainable growth and revenue enhancement – Developed strategic plan resulting in rapid growth of a complex network of niche academic, research and service programs. Increased endowment by $26M; extramural research funding $70M; and enrollment – 300%.
- Creative leadership with a focus on collaboration and communication – Initiated and organized university-wide culture change process resulting in use of information technology to improve student services, establish unified governance model, shared electronic admissions system, and peer training across seven separate colleges.
